- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chopped toasted pecans
Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease and lightly floured bottom only of an 8-inch square pan.
In a large saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Blend in sugar and vanilla.
Beat in eggs one at the time.
Stir in salt, baking powder, flour and pecans.
Spread in pan and bake 20-25 minutes until set in the center.
Cool completely, then cut into squares.
